The tall, elegant and technically sound local Bangalore batsman also doubles up as a wicketkeeper. Rahul was a part of India’s squad for 2010 U19 world cup and made his first class debut later the same year. He was born on 18 April 1992. He laid the foundation for karnataka’s win that season his 1033 runs and he was so awarded as man of the match award for his contributions in final. After appearing for India at the 2010 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, Rahul made his international debut against Australia in the 2014–15 Test series at Melbourne and In his second Test match at Sydney, he scored 110, his maiden Test century. He became the first Indian to score a century on One Day International debut  scoring 100* against Zimbabwe in 2016 at Harare Sports Club. Rahul is the only batsman to reach the score of 100 with a boundary on his maiden centuries in all the three formats of international cricket.
