Who is an Alexandra Ruth Shipp? an American Actress, Singer, Songwriter.

​Alexandra Ruth Shipp was born on 16th July 1991. She is an American actress, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who was a representation of prominence for portraying real-life musician Aaliyah in 2014 film named “Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B” and in 2015 film called  “Kimberly Woodruff.”

She also Oscar-nominated for the film “Straight Outta Compton.” Shipp was brought up in Phoenix, Arizona. Her mom is a European-American who was a Kundalini yoga teacher, and her father is an African-American who is a musician. Shipp has two brothers, and they were  James and Jordan, and she also has a stepsister who was named  Kasia.

​Shipp was educated in the Squaw Peak Elementary School, later in Arizona School for the Arts and also in  St. Mary's Catholic High School in Phoenix. When she was 17 years old, She moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting for her career.

​In the year 2009, she made her acting debut with a minor role in the film called “Alvin and the Chipmunks.”She went on to starred in the mystery teen drama series “House of Anubis.”In the year of 2014, she gained attention for her roles as Dani Raymond in the television film sequel called  “Drumline: A New Beat” and in “Aaliyah Haughton.”

For the latter performance, she sang for the movie. She is best known for playing the  Storm in the “X-Men franchise” starting with the movie “X-Men: Apocalypse” and Abby Suso in the year  2018  is a romantic comedy Love, Simon. ​Her upcoming movie was “A Dog's Way Home” which is an  American family drama film which is directed by Charles Martin Smith and written by W. Bruce Cameron and Cathryn Michon and it is based on the book by Cameron. 

​Alexandra Shipp’s mother is a two-time breast cancer survivor, she posted on her Instagram about her mother that Alexandra learned how to treat others and how to fight in life. She loves her mother a lot as everyone does. Alexandra Shipp lost her heart when her beautiful grandmother left this earth on September 11, 2018.
